About me
I spent most of my formative years contemplating how the mind worked. This curiosity inspired me to apply to Penn State where, in 2014, I earned a degree in Psychology. As part of my degree, I worked with children in community clinics and at Hershey Medical School. These experiences inspired me to combine my passion for neuroscience and developmental psychology to treat individuals with mental health issues.
In 2015, I attended Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia Pennsylvania where I received a Masters in counseling specializing in work with diverse and underserved communities and trauma studies. Through my clinical work, I saw first-hand the impact of early developmental trauma on the individuals I treated. That’s when I knew there was still more work to be done and so after I graduated in 2017, I decided to attend doctorate school.
My passion for social justice led me to attended The Wright Institute in Berkeley, California. There I received in-depth training in psychopathology, development, assessment, cognitive psychology, and psychoanalysis. My training experiences emphasized cultural competence and social advocacy.
I received my degree in 2021 and became a licensed provider in 2023. With over 8 years of clinical experience, I have discovered that the relationship between the therapist and the clients is at the heart of healing. I am passionate about providing client-centered services to people within my community.
My approach to work includes a unique blend of mindfulness principles, relational theory, and behavioral techniques. I am oriented towards providing clients the skills they need to be successful in work, school, and relationships.
I also offer psychosocial behavioral, personality, and career assessments. A psychodiagnostic assessment examines the way the mind works and explores which situations keep us from doing our best. An assessment can take between 6-8 weeks to complete and is a worthwhile investment . At the conclusion of the assessment you will be equipped with the a list of tools that are specifically geared towards your unique personality and learning style.
